Welcome to Whitehouse Cobberdogs.

A Purpose-Bred Family Companion

The Australian Cobberdog originated in Australia and was bred to be a deeply connected, people-focused companion. From the beginning, the Cobberdog was designed to support families—especially those seeking a calm, intuitive, and allergy-friendly dog.

Temperament Designed for Family Life

Australian Cobberdogs are known for their gentle, balanced nature. They are non-aggressive, highly trainable, and emotionally intuitive, making them well-suited for family homes with children, multi-generational households, or individuals seeking a dog that truly connects.

They form strong bonds with their people, often making intentional eye contact and staying close to those they love. Cobberdogs adapt easily to new environments and routines, making them a comfortable fit for a wide range of lifestyles.

Allergy-Friendly & Low-Shedding

The breed was carefully developed to have a low-shedding, low-odor, allergy-friendly coat, allowing more families to enjoy life with a dog. Australian Cobberdogs come in three sizes and a wide variety of coat colors and patterns, offering flexibility for different homes and preferences.

Naturally Intuitive Companions

One of the most remarkable qualities of the Australian Cobberdog is its emotional awareness. Cobberdogs are known to sense changes in mood, stress, or health and respond with quiet companionship, playfulness, or gentle affection.

They read facial expressions and body language and often seem to “just know” when someone needs comfort. This intuitive connection creates a deep sense of mutual trust and understanding within the family.

Purpose-Bred With Integrity

Australian Cobberdogs are distinct from other non-shedding dogs because of their purebred-in-development status. Breeders registered with the MDBA (Master Dog Breeders & Associates) are dedicated to preserving the breed’s true lineage, genetics, and temperament. The MDBA is the only registry worldwide that authentic Australian Cobberdogs can be registered with.

A Loving, Loyal Family Dog

While many Australian Cobberdogs work successfully in therapy and assistance roles, at heart they are exceptional family companions. They thrive on human connection, enjoy being involved in daily life, and bring warmth, loyalty, and emotional presence into the home.

With their friendly nature, allergy-friendly coat, and unique ability to connect deeply with the people they love, the Australian Cobberdog is a breed thoughtfully created to be more than a pet—a true member of the family.

Our Ethical Breeding Philosophy

At Whitehouse Australian Cobberdogs, we believe every dog deserves to be a cherished member of a family.

This core belief is central to our unique breeding program and is made possible through our wonderful Guardian Home Program.

  • Dogs in Our Home: Our program dogs live with us and our carefully selected local guardian families, ensuring they receive constant love, attention, and a rich, socially integrated life from the moment they are born.

  • Guardian Program: Our guardian families provide a permanent, loving home for one of our top-quality breeding dogs. This partnership allows our dogs to live a full life with their forever family while still being an important part of our program for a limited number of litters. We cover all breeding-related expenses, including comprehensive health testing, while the guardian family covers routine care.

  • Quality & Health: We focus on quality over quantity, with comprehensive health testing and careful selection for temperament and conformation to the breed standard, all to ensure your future puppy has the best start in life.
